Fix your Car or Get a New One

Saturday, September 5th, 2009

With winter around the corner in most part of North America I don’t think it is a stretch to say, “should I buy a new car or just fix up my old one”? Driving in the winter can be very challenging and when snow storms hit it is not for the faint of heart. But the type of car you drive and the state of repair it is in can have a profound effect on how safe you driving travels will be. It may not be time yet to retire your ride, so then you can fix it up instead.
Buying a set of used tires is a great way to save money and also be much safer on the roads during the bad weather months. I personally only install used auto parts in all my cars because the cost savings is so great. I used to just leave my autos and trade them in every 3 years but for the past decade I have had one purchased car and I just repair it with affordable used parts as needed. This has saved me a ton of cash and my next car purchase in two years will be an even higher quality car because I am sure I can make it last, therefore getting the best value possible out of it.
