The GT3 racing version of the Mercedes SLS AMG, pictures of which expired in Internet last week, was officially presented to journalists in New York, the day before the exhibition would be open to visitors. SLS AMG GT3 is intended solely for private clubs, it is licensed to participate in a series GT3 FIA. Car sales will start this year, but the tracks will see him in 2011. Although initially believed that SLS AMG GT3 V8 engine is standard with increased capacity to 600 h.p. in the official press release states that he has not suffered any changes and again delivered 571 h.p. Competitive SLS, however, is about 300 kg lighter than the serial model, which is achieved by using a composite material in its manufacture and removal of all unnecessary elements from the interior. Due to their low weight, the car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h for 3.7 sec, which is 0.2 sec faster than the standard model. One of the cars, which certainly has not gone unnoticed by any of the visitors to 63rd exhibition in Frankfurt, is Mercedes SLS AMG Gullwing, inspired by the legendary 300SL Gullwing of the 50 years of last century and received the opening up doors type of gull. Mercedes SLS AMG Gullwing is equipped with a V8 engine with working volume of 6 208cm2. Whose power is 571 h.p. at 6 700rev/min. but its maximum torque of 650Nm achieved. at 4 750rev/min. The unit is combined with 7-stage transmission with double clutch transmitting drive to the rear wheels. According to preliminary data of the Mercedes-Benz, their new supercar accelerates from 0-100km/h for 3.8sec and a top speed of 315 kilometers per hour, while the average consumption is only 13.2l./100km. Mercedes SLS AMG Gullwing has a full aluminum body structure. The appearance of the car differs from all other models of the company with its dynamic design and a perfect weight distribution between front and rear axles (respectively 47 to 53 percent) and low center of gravity stress the concept of exclusive sports cars.

The super-car SLS AMG Gullwing, which is the successor of the legendary car from 50 years of the last century – 300 SL Gullwing, will debut in September at the exhibition in Frankfurt. Furthermore, at the end of last week it became clear that in 2015. Mercedes-Benz plans to launch its electric version, and, the first tests will be carried out in the end of this year.
