From Land Rover spread official information about the redesigned Freelander 2, which has undergone minor cosmetic changes, but on the other hand, has received a completely new engine and drive version with only the front wheels. The front of the car with new bumpers, grille and headlamps and rear tail lights were changed only. Moreover, new wheels measuring 18 and 19 inches, and three new exterior colors – Baltic Blue, Fuji White and Kosrae Green. New addition to the engine range of Freelander 2 is a 2.2-liter turbodiesel in charge of ecology standards Euro5, which will be available in two versions, and will replace the current 2.2-liter delivering 158 h.p. The version of the engine is called TD4 and generates 148k.s. and the other – SD4, as its power is 187 h.p. The first dynamic is identical to that of this 2.2-liter engine, but fuel consumption and CO2 emissions are emitted with lower values. The renewed Land Rover Freelander 2 will appear in the company’s dealers in the fall as its price in the UK will start from 21,695 liras, and the beginning of 2011, the model will now be available in a version just to drive the front wheels, whose price is expected to be lower. The modification of front-wheel drive will be available only in combination with 2.2-liter diesel engine with a power 148k.s. Furthermore, it will have a start / stop system, and average fuel consumption will be slightly more than 5l/100km.
