By Audi confirmed that the new concept of e-Tron, out now in Detroit, will have a serial version, which will most likely be called R4, in addition, the vehicle will be used as a basis for future models of the VW Group. Also showed that “electrical” Audi plans are not limited to sports cars of the brand. E-Tron designation will be used for conceptual development, and based on other models, among which will surely have A1 and A8. R4 production is expected to be available in 2012. and yet again have electric modification. Besides, the model will also be offered with turbo-agents with working volumes of 2.0 and 2.5 liters. The e-Tron Detroit is greater dimensions than those of TT and less than a R8, but it implies that the price of the serial version will be lower than that of TT, while speculating about EUR 30 000. Also showed that the production model will have metal panels on the body, rather than carbon, such as in the concept.
