Infiniti М shined in LA
Besides the redesigned G37, Infiniti introduced the exhibition in Los Angeles and the new M-generation. Although it was shown in August in Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, now the model first debuted to a wide audience. The new Infiniti M has received radically altered vision, compared with its predecessor, and some of its features are inspired by the impressive concept Essence, which was presented at the exhibition in Geneva in March. Dimensions of the sedan are 4 945 mm length, 1 501 mm width and 1 844 mm height and the distance between the two axes is 2 900 mm. The interior of the car was in a sophisticated style, to create it are used innovative materials rather than Infiniti argue that their customers will feel at home. Infiniti M boasts an extremely rich equipment, which came from the fine leather upholstery, combined with silver powder treated with wooden decorations and special lighting “Fine Vision” gives a unique atmosphere evening. Propulsion of the model is transmitted to all four wheels through the 4WAS (4-Wheel Active Steering), and the location of the driver is a new development company, Infiniti Drive, allowing four driving modes – Standard, Eco, Sport and Snow.
The new generation of sedan is equipped with more rditsa innovative technologies, which improve comfort and security, including BSI (Blind Spot Intervention), stating that objects in the blind spot of the mirrors, ANC (Active Noise Control), and neutralizing external noise Forest Air, regulating temperature and ventilation in the interior. As to the engines, the Infiniti M will be available with two petrol unit. M37 modification relies on 3.7-liter V6, a power 330 h.p., and comes at the M35, using the 3.5-liter, having 303 h.p. About a month after the company confirmed rumors of a hybrid version of the M37, but have not yet disclosed details about her. Infiniti M56 will replace the M45 and is equipped with 5.6-liter V8 engine that produces 420 h.p. power, which is a whole 95 h.p. more than that of its predecessor. An interesting detail is that in Europe the M56 will be a diesel V6 engine of Renault, whose power is 265 h.p., it is not clear whether the modification will be another indication.
The new Infiniti M will be offered to 32 international markets, the model will appear for the first time in Europe. Sales in the U.S. will start in the spring of 2010th, and the old continent – in September. The car will stand in direct battle for market share against the leaders in this segment Audi A6, BMW 5-Series and Mercedes E-Class.
