BMW Group shows for the first time new business Saloon 5-Series. The sixth generation of the successful model with over 5.5 million sales worldwide, impresses with its modern aesthetic design and typical BMW dynamics and driving pleasure. With unmatched performance and innovative features for safety and comfort the new BMW 5-Series have even higher standards in the upper segment of the middle class. Perfectly balanced proportions underline the refined aesthetics and dynamic vision of the new Saloon BMW 5-Series. In typical style of the brand, it features a long hood and relief, short overhangs and coupe-like roofline, and the longest wheelbase in its segment. Charismatic expression of the faces of the kidney-shaped grille and radiator, which looks certain points slightly bent forward, the refined elegance of the posterior muscular and sports complement each other in the typical BMW design remarkable style and appearance of the car. The interior features modern and high quality materials ensure a noble and harmonious atmosphere. Clearly structured driver-oriented cockpit with technology, Black Panel, iDrive control system and intuitive handling of various functions and equipment, increase in driving pleasure. Standard equipment included in the multifunction steering wheel, two much functional levers of the steering column and the separation of governance and the comfort features further reinforce the feeling of superiority when driving. Options for demanding clients is optimized Head-Up Display, which offers more information, higher resolution and image size. The behavior of the new Saloon BMW 5-Series on the road was marked by even greater dynamics and outstanding comfort. Its agility is oriented on standard set of 3-Series, a feeling of comfort and luxury can be compared with that of the flagship 7-Series.
The combination of front suspension with double cross-bearers and Integral-V rear axle allows the achievement of the unique dynamics and comfort. Installed for the first time in the BMW 5-Series electromechanical steering Electric Power Steering (EPS) including serial Servotronic function leads to even greater efficiency gains. Dynamic Drive Control System allows individual settings of the characteristics of the suspension. The new BMW 5-Series comes with a feature Adaptive drive, which includes Dynamic damper and integral active steering. Optional integral active steering adds steering the front wheels controlled depending on the situation the way the rear axle steering angle and wheel deflection to 2,5 degrees. Regular six-cylinder diesel engines from the new generation with aluminum block and cylinder direct injection with Common-Rail power 245 h.p. BMW 530d and in 204 h.p. at BMW 525d. In soon palette of models will be completed by the BMW 520d, which modernized four diesel engines developing power 184k.s. BMW 520d series will be equipped with the system Start-Stop. With an average fuel consumption of 5.0l/100km in the test cycle and standards of EU CO2 emissions from 132gr/km it may also serve as an example in its segment. Thanks to BMW EfficientDynamics technology serial limo of BMW 5-Series again took the leading position in its segment in terms of effectiveness. All engines meet the emissions standards for EU5, but with the optional technology BMW BluePerformance new BMW 530d even meets the standards EU6. All engines of the new BMW 5-Series are available with automatic 8-stage transmission as part of additional equipment (included in standard equipment on BMW 550i). Optionally, the vehicle can be ordered with sports automatic transmission with shift levers for steering gear.
