Porsche Boxster with 3-cylinder engine
The top-manager of Porsche, Hans-Jürgen Wöhler responsible for the development of the model range Boxster, has revealed in an interview with the British edition of Autocar, the next generation model will be available with economical engine. Aggregates of the new Boxster is likely to be any new or completely new four-turbine 3-cylinder, in any case he will meet the stringent requirements of the EU’s CO2 emissions released, which will come into force in 2012. According to Wohler, the new Porsche Boxster will have a capacity between 180 and 200 h.p. and discharges its CO2 emissions will be about 180gr/km. The manager believes that if the first generation model was a 2.5-liter engine with a power 200 h.p., the customer should not have anything against the 3-cylinder unit. Note that according to EU requirements by 2012. new cars should emit no more than 120 gr/km CO2 emissions, but this is not true for companies producing less than 300 000 per year.
They in turn should reduce the average 25% of this benchmark model, compared with 2006.
